Islam and the Subcontinent

The people of subcontinent take great pride in being muslims and have great reverence towards the Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him and his family. Sub continent muslims exhibit their love for their religion by following islamic practices with massive zeal and zest.

Unfortunately though, all the religion practiced by subcontinent muslims is superficial and lacks the soul that was the desired outcome of those practices.
As Muslims, Men are required to visit the mosque 5 times a day where they are to listen to the Manual of life in their prayers and the repeated listening of that manual over and over is supposed to inculcate the teachings and that code of life in their daily lives in all their actions and interactions with each other, but unfortunately, the prayers in our mosques are in Arabic, which 99% of the subcontinent muslims donot understand. So whats left of the 5 daily prayers is just a shadow of what it was intended to be. Whats left is just a mere practice without its essence or its soul, Whats left is just a display of goodness on the part of muslims rather than being good by listening, learning and practicing.
The effect of this lack of understanding of religion and mere outward practice of it is that subcontinent muslims are willing to die and kill in the name of Islam and its messenger, but they donot have the insights on how to lead their lives as per the teachings of Islam and the its Prophet SAW
In engineering terms, we are the operators of our machines, we have the manual for it and we love and revere it, yet donot understand it. We kiss our manual and respect it, but donot have the understanding to implement it.
How can we ever expect to be able to implement the manual en mass if we are not willing to teach the manual in the native language to its operators.

Islam, Arabic and Us

The Quran was revealed to the Prophet in his mother tongue, a language in which he spoke and thought, a language of that land, a language which the people surrounding him would understand and relate to.
